I installed Ubuntu 11.04, installed FreeNX server and FreeNX client for Windows from http://www.nomachine.com/download-client-windows.php.
I've been using FreeNX on my Ubuntu machine for many months and just yesterday I've begun having troubles using it. What happens is that the FreeNX client (which is on my Windows machine) would connect to my Ubuntu machine (both on the same LAN) and it will initialize and connect fine and I would get the FreeNX logo window showing up and it will drop me into my desktop session.
My Ibus works fine except the icon on Notification area. When I right or left click on it, the context menu just "blink" (the menu shows up and disappears immediately).
My problem is that I use Mozc to type Japanese. I can use shortcut key to switch to ibus-mozc but I can only input Hiragana.
When I had Ubuntu 10.04 Netbook Edition installed on this machine, I used IBus to switch input methods among English, Japanese, and Korean. When I updated to Lubuntu 12.04, however, IBus won't do that.
I've installed iBus and ibus-mozc, an input method engine of Japanese, from the repository, and attempted to enable mozc from Preference > "Input Method" tab > "Select Input Method" combo box.
However, there is no choice to select, so I couldn't enable mozc.
I also tried ibus-anthy, another legacy Japanese input method, but the situation was the same and I couldn't use anthy.
This problem is als
Today I installed Statler A2 and tried the new input method named 'iBus'. http://code.google.com/p/ibus/Its configuration was much easier than SCIMs (I use Chinese Pinyin input) and was installed in short time.
FreeNX is a system that allows you to access your desktop from another machine over the Internet. You can use this to login graphically to your desktop from a remote location. One example of its use would be to have a FreeNX server set up on your home computer, and graphically logging in to the home computer from your work
computer, using a FreeNX client.
I need the ability to input Japanese, and so do a hundred million or so Japanese people. Getting a keyboard with a mere hundred keys to produce stuff like 魑魅魍魎 is not a simple task, and there are competing software packages that offer to do the job.
I think ibus is the best input method but it can only be installed via ccr or Chakra put it to extra.I like also fcitx bur for typing Japanese Korean and Chinese ibus is much more better.I am hoping to see ibus and ibus-gtk support on the extra repo.
