Alright guys..You did not like my last question because i used rude language..Ok im not gonna swear or anything anymore but it's been 2 weeks and i still can't put songs in my Ipod.
My wife runs an Ubuntu desktop that we use Rhythmbox to listen to music with. I run the latest Opensuse on a netbook that I listen to music at work with. I run KDE, but I use Banshee because I prefer its interface to Amarok. It was trouble getting Mp3 to work, and I still havn't gotten to work on Amarok.
I'm using Ubuntu 11.10 and the banshee media player that was included, I am trying to drag and drop songs to my ipod and it prepares to sync and fully syncs when i look at my ipod as a device on the computer it shows the artists that i put onto it but when i look on the ipod itsself the songs are no where to be found.
I really like Clementine as a music player, but there's an issue with my iPod classic. I can't find any way in Clementine to sort the tracks by album.
Unless I'm missing something very obvious, it seems to be a limitation in Clementine.
I have encountered 2 ipod issues on my machine that I never had before. They started about a month ago and I did not have them when I first installed 12.04. I am running Ubuntu 12.04 with a 30gb first generation of video ipod.
1. My computer will not detect my ipod when I plug it in to the USB port. I have to reboot after plugging in the ipod for the machine to detect it.
2.
Rhythmbox could not initialise the Ipod so I used Gtkpod and used Rhythmbox to copy songs into the Ipod.
Can access these files with Nautilus and can play them with Rhythmbox.
The Ipod will not play them and says "use Itunes" if pressed.
Looks like the Ipod uses some sort of song-index which is not working.
Moving files from and to the Ipod (drage and drop) makes Rhythmbox and Gtkpod crash.

I've found a lot on the web about being able to manage your iPod through Ubuntu.
Hi everyone,
I've searched everywhere to see if others had the same problem (both forums and general internet search). No luck.
I can run Banshee fine, import an iTunes music library, and play music. But when I plug in my iPod (Nano G5), instead of detecting the iPod, Banshee freezes. Now Ubuntu itself detects the iPod just fine.
Hi,
I'm trying to get my iPod fully working with ubuntu 11.10 so I don't have to keep booting into windows to manage things. I've tried a few different things so far:
1)Rhythmbox: this finds my iPod OK, has a nice podcast management system built in, and all looked very nice. UNTIL I tried to sync with the iPod or look at iPod properties then it just crashes and shuts down.
