I have recently reinstalled 14.04 LTS on my MacBook 2,1 (early 2007). I have had the isight webcam working before following the method outlined on the Ubuntu MacTel wiki. I have copied the /lib/firmware/isight.fw file from my last installation for safekeeping and copied it back into /lib/firmware after reinstallation.
I have a MacBook Pro Late 2008 (http://support.apple.com/kb/SP4?viewlocale=de_DE) and I have a problem with my built-in iSight Webcam.
One year ago, I crashed my laptop screen and got me a new one. Unfortunately, I bought a screen which was released with the newer Unibody MacBooks.
hi Alice, best of luck getting this working! I'm trying to do this as well (with a late-2007 white MacBook, Santa Rosa).Based on my reading, installing #! (or any Linux) on a Macbook laptop without having OSX installed will be very difficult, if not impossible. Here are some things to note:1. More likely than not, your machine will not boot off a USB stick.
