[ubuntu] Ipod Touch 5g on Linux?

Hello,Lately I've been messing around with Linux and my iPod touch 3G (iOS 4.1) and already got it to work with Linux (see Tips & Tricks session). Now I noticed that Ubuntu 10.04 and 10.10 support the iPod Touch 3G out of the box. If I install the same software here on my Minimal Ubuntu Openbox setup, it won't work. Now I wondered, what's the difference?

I see somewhere that Apple doesn't no longer support libgpod in iPhone4/iPod Touch 4 and Nano 6g. I see also that the system of databases for those new device have to be the same.

Would it be possible to implement out-of-the-box support for an iPod Touch / iPhone with Statler?

So I finally got my Ipod Touch 5 to sync to my computer with Banshee but when I try transfer music from the computer to my Ipod it just wont.. I mean like when I drag a mp3 file over to the "Ipod touch" tab at the bottom left it says "Importing 1 of 1" and bellow that it says "Scanning" and I check on my Ipod the file isn't there...

Anyone know of a way to do this? I'm on Ubuntu 11.04 with an iPod Touch 4g running iOS 4.3.1

I am curious if indeed I will be able to use the iPod touch 4th gen with LMDE as I really do not wish to revert to windoze just for this ...I recently removed EVERY M$ OS from our house But now I am getting an iPod touch and I have searched google for an answer to no avail please help in simple terms as well Thank you in advance.

If you want iphone/ipod touch in ubuntu easy way is using iFuse program.iFuse allows you to mount an iPhone or iPod Touch under Linux using the USB cable. You can view and edit the files similar to a normal USB disk drive. iFuse does not require “jailbreaking” or voiding your warranty and works without needing extra software installed on the phone (such as `ssh`).
