My internet connection is a 512kbps one (60 KBPS ) its downloading speed if its fine but now i am getting maximum 25KBPS . from the day when i have installed (recently i think from 3-4days back i switched to 11.10 before that 10.04& net fine with that) .At the day i have installed Ubuntu , i went for an update but its started with too slow speed . I thought that server issue so i switched to best server option and choose the best one .but my problem n (Hardware)

Hi,

I was using 11.04 natty ubuntu and using USB LAN E-100U network adapter to connect internet. It has started giving me very slow internet speed but window works fine with USB. I don't want to switch to window just for internet speed. Please suggest me the way to improve internet speed.

I have googled and found some tricks but still that does not help to get proper internet speed.

im running Ubuntu 12.10 and it works like a charm... but one problem, when i updated my software everything seemed OK until i noticed that my internet speed very slow.

I've got a problem with my network speed. I sometimes have full download speed (i.e. 5 MB/s, which is about my max. internet dl-speed) and sometimes comparable slow speed (about 0.5 MB/s). This is affects both internet and home network!

When I got slow network speed it stays that way until I 'renew' the module for my PCI network card (sudo rmmod e1000 followed by sudo modprobe e1000).

I am very new to all this and thought I'd have a look at ubuntu with the hope of it running my server.

I have installed Ubuntu 12.04 Server which went fine, I then installed Unity again this was all fine.

I can access the GUI fine but my one problem is Internet Connection.

I have another problem about wireless access in Ubuntu 11.04.

After I installed the driver of the wireless card, everything went fine. The speed of downloading from internet can even reach 2 Mb/s.

But I don't know why it got very slow after one day, like 20 Kb/s:mad:.

I have a problem that I do not know how to investigate more. I am currently running ubuntu 12.04 since last July with no network problems at all, both wireless and LAN. About a week or more ago, my internet connection started to stop and resume randomly. Sometimes the connection also became really slow.

If I want to copy Ubuntu to Ubuntu I have to use rcp, samba is too slow but if one of the computers is booted in windows and the Ubuntu is the samba server the speed is ok.

I have a 10mb of connection speed, on Windows the download speed is around 1200kbps.

But in Ubuntu it is always around 150kbps, its very slow than expected.

I tried to solve this by changing the server in software channels setting to best server, but this does not work for me.

Same speed on Chrome downloads.

I really hope that you guys can help me with this, because its really bad.

I use Ubuntu 11.10, and I connect internet via a ethernet card.

I have problem about very slow internet speeds. The manager at my work place tried to slow down the internet speed but when I use Windows with some download manager the internet speed is really good enough or when I test the speed of internet my results are good.

How can I do? Could you help me please?
