[ubuntu] Internet in the guest ubuntu system

I've installed an ubuntu (10.10) as a guest machine using a virtual box (version 4.0.4) When I work from home with my router that runs dhcp I get internet access from both Windows 7 and ubuntu machines. However when I'm running an ubuntu while being at work, I can -get only to the "intranet" servers from Ubuntu and Windows 7 works great with internet as well. As for the internet sites I can do 'nslookup' for example, but I can't really type neither dns name nor IP and load the site. I guess its some sort of p (Hardware)

I am running Ubuntu 12.04 in a VM, NIC is bridged. This machine is a DHCP/DNS server using DNSMASQ.

I have a dual boot system with Windows7 and Ubuntu 12.04 with wired internet connection. It is configured to automatic DHCP. The internet works perfectly well on Windows. But on Ubuntu, the connection sometimes work, sometimes not. On most occasions, internet doesn't work. The indicator does say 'Connection established". I have tried other distros earlier with the same issue.

Main (Host) machine under Windows 7 / 64. - Internet with static IP. virtual machine - VirtualBox 4.1.8 for Windows hosts. Guest - virtual machine under Ubuntu 10.04.

How to open access from the Internet to guest virtual machine?

I installed Windows 7 as a guest in KVM running on Ubuntu 12. Windows seems to be running fine with the exception that it can't access any external domains or IPs.

The guest can ping the host's IP and the host can ping the guest's IP, but that's it.

I used the default NAT setup, which others have reported should work. What can I do to fix this?

I have Windows 7 as guest OS on my Ubuntu 12.04 host through Virtualbox. I use dial-up connection (ppp0) through a USB dongle on host machine to access Internet. However, when my host is connected to the Internet, guest (Windows 7) is not able to connect to the Internet, either using NAT or Bridge method in Virtualbox. What could be the problem?

hi all, i installed Windows XP as guest in VirtualBox and i do not have any internet connection. my guest os (win xp) get me this message: Limit or no connectivity!

but when i installed Linux Mint or Ubuntu as other guset i had internet connection !

does i install any package in host for use internet in win xp guest? or have other solution? what is problem?

I need to set up a small office network that will consist of the following:

10 laptops and desktop running windows 7

1 desktop machine running Ubuntu desktop 12.04
