http://ubuntuforums.org – I installed Ubuntu 12.04 way long back back . But i used it for only two weeks . My major problems is connecting to internet . Problem Description : I am using Reliance Broadband Wire-line Connection .To connect to internet i need to enter Username and password and then i have to connect to internet . But when i use it Ubuntu , i am able to connect internet but i loose connection every 5 min . I need to connect and disconnect several times using network icon on right top corner . My connection Details : [ from my windows 7 machine ] Connection-specific DNS Suffix: reliancebroadband.co.in Des (Hardware)

I Am using a broadband internet connection from local server. i insatalled ubuntu 11.10 yesterday bt i could not configure my internet connection. like i used 10.04 before. it was easy to configure and connect to internet. generelly i used dsl settings to configure my net. there i write down my user name, my connectors name and password to connect witd net. bt now in 11.10 its not working.

Hello, I am living in China currently and i have to use a pppoe connection to connect to the internet. My problem occurs when i normally connect to the internet using the:

sudo pon dsl-provider

This connects me for around 25 seconds to the internet and than just hangs up and stops the connection. Does anyone know why this occurs?

Hello I am unable to connect to the Internet using a wired connection. I was able to use the wired network yesterday. But I had problems with the flash player, so had to reinstall Ubuntu again. I am able to connect to Internet using wireless connection. But I need to connect to the wired connection. I am using Ubuntu 10.

hi dear,

i have install F14 (fedora 14),but i can not connect to internet via broadband connection. for example in ubuntu when we type "pppoeconf" command in terminal and set username and password ,connected to broadband internet.

what is same command in fedora to connect to broadband connection?

(i have no internet to install any package) :(

I have Ubuntu 12.04 and a 4G mobile broadband-modem called, ZTE mf880 ltf usb modem. Every time I loose internet-connection, Ubuntu seem to "loose track" of the modem and I have to pull it out and put it back in again, only to wait for Ubuntu to detect it again.

This happens often for my ubuntu 12.04.

I'm using ubuntu on my laptop and connect to internet via wifi.

Sometimes even though the connection is established with the modem I'm unable to connect to the internet.

at that times I'm also unable to connect to 192.168.1.1, which should give me the page to my modem even if there is no internet connection to the modem.
