I have an Acer Aspire 3690 laptop who's ethernet adapter is not working due to IRQ conflict with the mouse (report during startup....press F1 to continue or F2 to setup). I tried to see and change settings in setup but there is not much other than boot menu that can be changed and could solve the broblem.
I've installed Ubuntu 12.04 but the wireless driver is not working.
I have recently just downloaded ubuntu 11.10 and before i installed, wireless worked perfectly in windows. Now that i have downloaded and installed ubuntu, i know longer have windows. I do not have a wired connection at my house, only a mifi, so my computer is useless now without internet. I really like the functionality of ubuntu, but need internet.
So I recently installed Ubuntu on my Acer Aspire V3-551 laptop. I have an Atheros AR5BWB222 wireless adapter.
Everything works fine except for the wireless. I can sometimes connect to the wireless, but most of the time it will be making an attempt to connect and then enver connect.
I recently bought a Lenovo K23 laptop with which I am much pleased. The wireless card works off a Broadcom proprietary driver, and I eventually figured out how to install that and get wireless.
However, in the process I nuked my ethernet capabilities.
Hi I just deleted my windows XP and installed Ubuntu 9.10 earlier this morning. I used wired connection to get drivers for my wireless network card.
When I did lspci, the very last line states:
Network Controller: Broadcom Coporation BCM4311 902.11b/g WLAN(rev 01)
I have an Acer emachines E725 and have installed Ubuntu 12.04 using wubi. Initially there was no wireless but I installed the "Additional Drivers" program and installed the Broadcom STA wireless driver.
When I install/enable the driver, the wireless device works well. But if I shut the computer down or restart it, it will deactivate automatically.
I had 9.04 on my HP Pavilion DV6570, everything worked fine until I decided to install 9.10. I installed a fresh setup and now I can't use my broadcom wireless, when I go to Hardware drivers to enable proprietary drivers there is nothing to activate, no wireless driver, no graphic driver!
After installing fedora 17 I tried to make wireless connection to the internet for some tiime with the netgear dongle and was not succesful. This usb-adapter is changed with Asus usb n10 wireless adpter.
And indeed for the first time the system shows a pop-up menu for a wireless connection
So the wireless connection is recognized.
A password is given.
