I've installed evernote 4.5.7 with Wine 1.4, but when I start the Evernote application, a small dialogue appears saying:
Could not connect to server.
You need to be online to register or perform an initial sync. Please
check your internet connection.
But which internet connection? I am connected to the internet. Do I need to install a browser in Wine to connect to the internet?
Evernote has the "Platinum" rating at http://appdb.winehq.org , which means this windows program runs awesome sauce on GNU/Linux.
When I try to Curl a SSL page on my ubuntu 12.04 TLS server, it won't work:

I wanna wine a windows .exe program.
first time i wine it ,i get an error message :"mfc42.dll cant be found"
then i install it with winetricks
i wine it again, this time i get
"fixme:toolhelp:CreateToolhelp32Snapshot Unimplemented: heap list snapshot"

I have installed (with the synpatic manager) Wine1.4, winetricks, wine1.4 i386 ,wine gecko1.4, wine1.4common.
From the GUI I can open programs/accessories/notepad (It works.)

Hey all, my 12.04 install gets more and more stable every day I update it, and most of my annoying problems have disappeared.
I'm trying to install Wine, as I want to try and get SAPGui working under it (school gives me a Windows installer and an OS X program...nothing for linux).
I have Ubuntu 12.04 installed on my wife's HP mini along with wine 1.5 WoW launcher starts and connects to the servers for updates. But when we try to log into the game we get an Error #105 and "Server Disconnected".
I'm kinda annoyed right now, so here is the nutshell version.
I want to install Wine in Suse 11.2.
I went to the 'add applications' thing and found their outdated wine installation, and after 'installing' I did have wine.
I went to Wine HQ to see if i could get it directy from them. I went to the Open SuSe page.
