gonna do this...
and maybe copy some notes to make it easier to do next time.
sudo apt-get install libapache2-mod-mono

Now I found how to build and install mono 2.6.x to TC.First install packages - base-dev, make, pkg-config, gcc, bison, binutils, gettext, glib2-dev, glib2thenwget http://ftp.novell.com/pub/mono/sources/mono/mono-2.6.1.tar.bz2tar xjvf mono-2.6.1.tar...
So... I think I installed multiple copies of mono and I'm not sure how to clean up. I'm sorry if this is not the best place to ask this question. I didn't think it was appropriate for askubuntu and if there's a better forum kindly point me in the right direction... :)
I am trying to compile monodevelop from source. This was working with mono 3.8, but now I've installed mono 3.10 and it's broken.
Because of a bug in Mono 3.10, I have to revert to Mono 3.8.
Where can Mono 3.8 be downloaded?
At http://www.mono-project.com/download/ only 3.10 is available for download.
At https://github.com/mono/mono/releases only the source is available for download, not binaries.
There is a link to older changelogs, but not to older binaries.
