I've been testing out the new WebUpd8 PPA for Rhythmbox which I used to upgrade from Rhythmbox v2.97 to v2.98.
However, when I added this PPA, when using my favourite plugins replaygain and coverart-browser, Rhythmbox crashes with a segmentation fault.
Worse, when this crash happens, my Unity desktop becomes unstable, with various applications failing to start with similar segmentation faults.
I stopped using rhythmbox years ago because I thought banshee was better, now I would say as far as the 2 players go rhythmbox seems to be much less buggy, (no this isn't a which player is better thread so lets not go there) anyway I use bash scripts to control banshee after login, to get it to start in the background and play music automatically, I want to switch to rhythmbox but can't seem to fi
When trying to add the Webupd8 Rhythmbox PPA to my system through
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:webupd8/rhythmbox
the command seems to work fine. Then i apt-get update and upgrade, and it shows no upgrade to be found. When i run
sudo add-apt-repository -r ppa:webupd8/rhythmbox
right afterward, it tells me it does not exist in any sources.list files.
Does anybody know what is going on?
P.S.
today when i started Rhythmbox and played a song then there is sound in it.
Hello,
I need to rip a cd, and for this I opened Rhythmbox. I don't see any button though, where I can start a rip?
Am I missing something? Does anybody have a tip how to rip with Rhythmbox?
Hello,
I was having an issue with the pulseaudio-equalizer an rhythmbox, sound gets really crackly but so far only with rhythmbox, youtube sounds just fine. I tried installing the rhythmbox equalizer thinking I can just use this for now as a work around, I don't mind the extra few clicks to disable one equalizer for a short time then enable it later.
Rhythmbox was working fine ubtil I tried to install a plugin https://github.com/srijan/StopAfterC...-for-Rhythmbox
But after I installed and tried to activate this, Rhythmbox crashed and would not restart.
I have tried removing the plugin & uninstalling and re-installing RB, but no luck.
This is my error.
Code:
paresh@desktop:~$ rhythmbox

I'm trying to build Rhythmbox in order to fix a bug, but am running into problems doing so.
I downloaded the source using sudo apt-get source rhythmbox afterwhich I ran configure with the argument --prefix=/home/notgary/rhythmbox/build in order to keep the compiled binary from messing up my existing system.
Previous I have never used rhythmbox by default because it seemed to be lacking in features to me. Just my personal opinion.
With rhythmbox back in 12.04 will ubuntu give it some attention to give it some usability one thing that was majorly missing on my last use of rhythmbox was an equalizer which is the most basic of requirements for an audio player let alone a preamp.
