Hello everyone,
I currently have issues with installing ubuntu 12.10 on my Asus K95V laptop.
I can boot from the USB, it gives me this menu:

Im getting a black screen when i press Install Ubuntu.
I've just installed ubuntu 11.10 on a 64bit machine with 2 nvidia cards. After installation, I rebooted and a black screen showed up, with a blinking white underscore. So I re installed the system, giving nomodeset as kernel boot option (since i understood it can solve this issue).
Now i dont have a black screen, but a corrupted splash screen with no login menu. CTrl+alt+F4 does nothing.
I just bought ASUS UX42VS and I am have troubles installing ubuntu 12.10. After booting from USB or CD, whatever I select in the grub menu, the screen goes black and the computer does nothing. I have already tried to edit grub settings with nospalsh noguiet nomodeset but it did not help. Can you please help?
I've read several posts about using -- nomodeset when trying to install.
The hardware is a via P820 board, that about it!
I have been trying to install Ubuntu 11.10 on my new Lenovo laptop. The specs are
CPU - AMD A-8 3500M
GPU - AMD Radeon HD 6620G
4gb RAM
Currently on WIndows 7 64 bit (YUCK)
So I put the 32bit Ubuntu 11.10 onto a cd-r, and booted it. I got to the menu screen and hit Install. Screen eventually turned off, so I looked around on the internet and found I have to use the nomodeset option.
I have installed wubi before, and in my previous laptop i had no problem installing it. NOw I switched to a new laptop(cause the prev one got broken), I cant seem to make it work.
I run wubi.exe and then it started installing, after that it asks for reboot right? to be able to successfully install wubi.
I did a Wubi "alongside install" from the Windows installer for Ubuntu Desktop 12.04 LTS. After install I get a black screen, when trying to boot Ubuntu.
I'm trying to install 12.10 from a burned DVD. When I try to boot from the disc, I'm met with a Grub screen that shows four options (the standard "Try Ubuntu without installing" / "Install Ubuntu" list). No matter which option I select, the DVD spins for a bit and the screen goes black.
I've tried multiple verified Live DVDs.
i installed 12.10 yesterday on my dell latitude 610 , installation was fine and then nothing afterwards it would just boot to a black screen, so I reinstalled it via the USB on boot and selected nomodeset again installed fine then same problem reoccurs that It goes to the black screen, a couple of times it's said about the graphics and says 3 options , 1 being run in low res for one session and I
