I tried to install ubuntu 13.10 on my imac 21.5 from usb
after completion, I rebooted and the imac got stuck on a blinking _
I ran boot-repair and rebooted several times without success.
here is my boot-repair info
I want to install Ubuntu Desktop 12.0.4 on a dead iMac. The iMac has no OS installed into it. The only access I have is through an uncompatible OS X Snow Leopard DVD. This gives me access to Disk Utility and terminal (although the terminal will not recognise the sudo command).
I would like create a USB installer (not cd at all costs, as I have no access to CDS at this time).
I have Ubuntu 12.04 installed on my Intel iMac. Except the keyboard everything is working fine out of the box. There is however one thing I like to be solved, that is strange startup behaviour. When I start the iMac Ubuntu will startup and failed to startup turn by turn.
I downloaded Ubuntu 12.04, ran Parallels Desktop, then booted the Ubuntu ISO. I chose to install and that led me to this window i'm now in, asking me about Installation Type: Erase disk and install Ubuntu, or Create/resize partitions for Ubuntu. I'm not sure if I need to partition; but if I choose to erase disk and install, I worry if I'll erase my iMac files with it.
