I have installed Ubuntu 11.10 on a vista laptop, but Dell is providing the BIOS update in .exe format currently my bios version is A09 but on the driver download site the latest version of bios is A011.
I have problem with the bios of my laptop Dell inspiron 1564. When I updated the bios, as what the Dell AutuDetect software suggested, the bios password was changed and I cannot access it anymore.
Can anyone help me? Please....

I have a Dell Inspiron 5520 with Windows 8.1 x64 and I want to install Ubuntu as a secondary OS. Earlier, I have tried installing JoliOS Express with the *.exe package and it said It was missing a file called winbuidr.mbr or something like it (Probably because I have UEFI BiOS Mode). My main question:
How do I install Ubuntu from a USB drive while my USB Port is not a boot location?
I have a Dell Inspiron 1420 with Linux Mint 13 on it (Ubuntu 12.11 I think). I have two sticks of RAM 1GB each. Today, I have changed one for a 2GB one. On boot, BIOS noticed RAM change and redirect me to BIOS setup - to change settings so system knows RAM has changed. Couldn't find out how to do it so resume normal boot.
I have had Ubuntu 12.10. 64-bit (this is my first dive into the OS) for less than two hours... and already am able to update the system on my old Dell Inspiron 1520, but alas, finding the drivers for this laptop is a chore.
I installed Ubuntu 14.04, on to my dell Inspiron 7740 and I can no longer access my bios. When I start my laptop I hit F12 and I go straight into Ubuntu and the same thing happens when I hit F2. what should i do and how can I fix this?
