Hello linux world!
I'm a bit new to linux but I've been playing around with it for a few days now and have begun migrating from my previous windows environment.
I recently installed Ubuntu 10.04 on my desktop which is a home built machine, the problem is that ubuntu doesn't detect my other hard drives. They are not just unmounted, they basically doesn't exist. I can't find em anywhere.
hello , im pretty new on lynux and im having problems with the installation ,when i try to install the ubuntu it works all fine untill you need to choose in what hard drive you want to install it
the problem is that the ubuntu does not detect any hard drives on my computer....
iv tried everything:
change the bios setting
replace the sata cabels and ports
i was doing all fine but ubuntu just w
I'm hoping someone here could help me with the installation problem I'm having, namely Ubuntu doesn't detect my hard drives. I've tried installing from a disc and using wubi; neither have worked. Drives are detected just fine in Windows 7.
I searched around to see if any of my hardware is incompatible, but didn't find anything.
I am new to Linux and to Ubuntu, I was wondering, I have two hard drives setup in SATA ports (non-raid, at least I don't think they are). I installed ubuntu unto the drives fresh without any previous versions or windows at all.
However when I got the Ubuntu 12.04 LTS working, all I see is 1 x 120 gigabyte harddrive.
Tonight I installed an SSD in my Ubuntu machine with the intention of ultimately copying my installation to it, and hopefully having everything working that bit faster.
To do the installation I had to swap a few of the SATA cables around for various reasons, and after booting found that BIOS could no longer see my installation hard drive.
I have a computer with 3 hard drives on it. I have Ubuntu 12.04 on my newest and biggest hard drive and Windows XP on my 2nd hard drive and a old version of Ubuntu 7.04 on the third hard drive.
Everything was working perfectly and I was using Grub to choose between the different systems.
Hey guys~
There are 2 SSDs in my laptop, my Ubuntu OS is on one of them, however, I can't detect the other one =(
My laptop has a storage of 128G and had a win7 OS initially.
A few weeks ago, I wanted to add Ubuntu to it, but the installation of grub always failed.
My laptop is an HP Envy 4t-1105dx runnign windows 8. It has a 500 HDD and a 32 GB SSD. When I run the installer from from USB, I get a ubiquity related error. Then the installer fails to see any hard drives and pressing continue would close the installer.
Help would be much appreciated.
I'm reposting my question 'cause it seems the previous is alreadt forgotten.
I can boot to windows 7 normally.
However in Ubuntu - I cannot boot. When using a Ubuntu Live CD, I cannot see my drives in gparted or disk utility.
Launching Nautilus - no drives are seen
Any ideas?
