My laptop is Dell Inspiron 5420, with two graphic cards:
Intel HD Graphics 4000
Nvidia GeForce GT 630M
I took the Thinkpad T400 configuration guide as an example to configure my Linux, but I only get the integrated card to work, and the card is not using the Intel driver
Currently, the behavior of my system is:
using the intel driver in the Xorg.config, X cannot starts, reports cannot find
I could use a little help and a hint in the right direction with my AMD HD graphic cards.Id like to use Waldorf with fglrx, but Wheezy doesnt work with fglrx because the current xserver doesnt afaik.
I'm taking on a summer project to build a PC tower that's optimized for 3D gaming (think Assassin's Creed). I need to know what graphic cards work the best with Ubuntu 12.04 and what kind of processor they work best with.
Does someone know how to configure two graphic cards on opensuse 11.2... sax2 always does the configuration just for one card, even if I use the option to select another one, sax2 just overwrite old config.
The second question is, if there is any nice program/wizard to create xorg conf file?
There has been some discussion on XDA about 64GB microSD cards on the Galaxy Tab 7.0+. The threads I've seen are older (April 2012) and state that the cards work. That's encouraging. The cards to which they refer are the Class 6 cards which were out early this year.
However, it's now September, and Class 10 cards are out, and they DO NOT work.
Ubuntu 12.04 LTS is supported for 5 years, and will get some core updates for 2 years : I guess those updates include the kernel, graphic drivers and X11.
But will these updates be optionnal, or not ?
I would like to stick with my present version of the kernel and X11, because I'm using an AMD/ATI graphic card with fglrx driver, but according to this link, support for ATI HD 2000/3000/4000 cards
Hello all,
I'm looking to get a monitor with a higher than the usual 1920x1200 resolution, such as the SyncMaster S27A850D which can display 2560x1440.
Now my question is: do most graphic cards handle this resolution or do I need something beefier ? Note that I don't game, I only do image processing and programming with tons of windows open.
