Hi,
I just installed the latest kubuntu and bought a lacie internet space drive. In windows, after installing the software, it shows a back-up, a SharedFiles and a MyFiles directory. How do I mount this in (k)ubuntu?
sudo mount -t cifs //192.168.1.114/SharedFiles /media/LACIE/openshare/ -rw -o umask=0000,username=xxxxx,password=xxxxx
X went down, and no possibility to downgrade to an older Xorg anymore, proposed disabled of course. Also symlinks stopped working and all harddrives but the sysdrive disapperared.
Before that mess occured after the last critical upgrade, there was graphical corruption of the xfce desktop gui, no titlebars etc.
Ubuntu 12.04 has problem with Intel GM45 Chipset, featuring the the Mobile Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 4500MHD
I have a COMPAQ Presario CQ70 laptop with an Intel GM45 chipset that features the Mobile Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 4500MHD. I was using the second HDMI video port to drive both a projector or a second monitor.
I'm not sure when, but my ubuntu machine stopped responding to front usb ports. Any device plugged into the rear of the machine work fine, but the front don't do anything. My phone won't even draw power when plugged into the front. I am using the ringtail experimental build, but they were working fine last night.
The lsusb command returns

hi, it is a couple of days now that the automount service from nautilus stopped working. While previously when i was plugging in a flash disk, or an external hard disk a notification window was appearing asking what to do, (i.e. open with files, or eject) this functionality stopped working. I was searching around in order to find something weird but i couldn't.
I am trying to get a USB external hard drive (ext4) to automatically mount when it is plugged in. I used to have it working but has since stopped.

Since I installed 11.1 and now 11.3 I haven't been abble to access my LaCie 500gb USB 2.0 external disk. So I asked LaCie support about it and they replied as follows:
Windows 2k or SuSe Linux 11.0 can not see device in any USB 2.0 ports
Is this a known problem and will it ever be fixed?
Hi I have a machine with broadcom 4365 wirless card. It was working with the dell installed ubuntu 11.10 on my inspiron 15R (5520) Laptop.
After upgrading to 12.04 that stopped working and I fixed it with a deb package I found here.
I have a lot of issues with laptop overheating > fan > battery.
