http://ubuntuforums.org – Hy guys, i have a problem with this wireless card drivers. I use Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. Wireless worked pretty well (except known disconnects caused by rt2800pci driver) until ubuntu updated last week. After that, wireless dissapeared from Network Manager. I ran lsmod and i saw rt2800pci was not loaded anymore. Then i installed rt3290sta which almost works, but the problem is it causes complete freeze when i open NetBeans (don't know why NetBeans cause this freeze, but i am sure the 3290sta causes it, i experienced exactly same behaviour on previus ubuntu installation after i installe (Hardware)

Hi, I've just made a move to ubuntu from W7.

I have installed 12.10 on HP ProBook 4740s but i cant get wireless (wifi) working. After booting to Ubuntu, wireless network is by default down and even when I switch it up, it is not visible in network options in top right corner. It is also not possile to connect from terminal, because no wireless networks are found. So it seems that wireless is somehow installed but probably not properly.

Dear all, I am working in Ubuntu 8.04.....I have my Acer laptop...My wireless card as i found by the command, $ lshw -C network is Intel/PRO/Wireless 3945abg and driver module is iwl3945.... i had no problem with wireless for somedays...few days back i am not able to connect into wireless...

I just upgraded from Ubuntu 12.04 to 12.10, however, my network card is not working anymore... When i had 12.04 installed, i just had to download the driver from Ralink, go to the directory and enter these commands:

$ make $ sudo make install

and the network card worked... now, when I want to do this in ubuntu 12.10, it seems like it works, but it doesn't.

Hi so I just installed 10.10 for netbooks, and apparently it's using the RT2800PCI driver for my wireless NIC in my EeePC 901.

Caution: I'm a newb.

Hardware: Giada i35G, cedar trail atom with nvidia gf119, railtek ethernet and Ralink 3290 for wireless.

Already accomplished: Installed Ubuntu 12.10, loaded GPU drivers and redirected sound out through GPU card to HDMI. Ethernet works like a charm.

Issue: Can't get my wireless up and running.

I recently installed Ubuntu 10.4 on my new Dell Studio 1558. After installing the broadcom proprietary driver for my wireless card, the wireless for my laptop worked fine.

Hi there, I bought a Compaq CQ58. I try many distributions, only Fedora 18 seems to work almost out of the box, and with free drivers. I have only a problem. I use network manager, I can detect my ap, connect to it, but I am disconnected few seconds after... My wifi / bluetooth device is a pci Ralink 3290 :

I'm a linux newbie, trying to set up a server with a wireless connection. I'm using Ubuntu Server 12.

I installed the driver for my DELL1450 wireless stuff with ndiswrapper and it works. Actually, I worked with the wireless yesterday and it worked. After that, I took my laptop to another place, and there it didn't work! I did a whole lot of things to try to get it working.
