I am trying to setup up an HP Officejet G85xi printer through an Iomega Home Media Network Hard Drive, so that the printer can be shared over the network without requiring that an attached computer be turned on to print. There is a place on the back of the Network Hard Drive to plug in the printer with USB.

hello I have managed to install the LaserJet 1000 HP printer in ubuntu but its still not printing I'm using ubuntu 12.04 lts from the live cd
I plugged in the printer Ubuntu picks up the printer says it need the plug in then proceeds to automatically downloads the plugin and asks me to accept the install which I have done The LaserJet 1000 clearly shows up in printers menu shows up in printers

The printer works properly but when I try to scan (using simple-scan). It can't find the scanner.

I purchased a HP 1000 deskjet printer. It won't print. It appears to be installed properly. I even receive a window that asks if I want to print a test page. Nothing happens. I returned the printer, and got another one (same kind), and still nothing. I contacted HP. They gave me a download for compatible drivers; which I downloaded. Still nothing.

I have a hp officejet t65 printer whit LPT1 connection.
I add the printer but I am not able to print when a file is sent to be print the file remain stacked in the printer jobs list and after a wile it despair, and the file is not printed.
anyone pleas tell me how to configure this printer, I also use and hplip but , I don`t have a option for LPT.

A few days ago I installed a new network printer Samsung SCX 4x24 following the UBUNTU 9.10 screen guide. Everything went quite well and the test page was printed correctly. Unfortunately when I print a document or an internet page the output from printer is a series of white pages.
i have gotten an error message saying i need to install a plugin. when i try to update that it says i need to update my firmware. when i try to do that i get an error message that i need to update teh plugin. i already went to the synaptic package manager and downloaded eveything with hp on it. i have downloaded the hplip status manager.
