http://ubuntuforums.org – I'm having trouble with my HP Laserjet 1020. I'm running Karmic beta, but had the same problem under Jaunty... If I plug the printer in, it seems to install fine. It uses the Foomatic driver. To print, I have to uncheck "sharing". Now, I can print text documents and such, but it has trouble with large jobs. If I try to print google's homepage (49k), it takes about 20 seconds to send to the printer, but eventually it does print. Lots of pages have more graphics and are much larger in size, and don't print at all. They go in the print queue, and then disappear after a bit without a blip from the printer. Has anyone had this problem? Am I using the wrong driver? What's going on? Thanks, Jeff (Hardware)

All right, this is driving me nuts.

I have an HP Color LaserJet cm1312nfi connected to the ethernet jack on a D-Link DPR-1260 wireless usb print server - so the print server acts as a wireless bridge. I can't get any Ubuntu box to print to the LaserJet. Windows XP and Vista laptops on the network print to it just fine.

Hello all

I'm having trouble getting my networked printer to print and am hoping someone can lend some advice. I'm running openSUSe 11.3 on a laptop and the printer is connected to my desktop which is running Windows XP. I have the printer and several folders and drives shared. I can see the folders and drivers on my laptop but I cannot get the printer to actually print.

graphical interface successfully located my epson stylus 110 printer and downloaded the drivers. I printed a ubuntu test page. The green light is on-on my printer, but when I select something to print, and see the logo "print executing" and and the bar completed, it doesn't print. On the print queue behind the above printer logo, it says " printer stopped ".

I setup my Canon MX870 while running F17. I successfully printed a test page, and didn't print anything after that. I upgraded to F18 and tried to print, but nothing was sent to the printer. I've checked Cups (localhost:631) and it shows that the print jobs completed. While trying to troubleshoot I found that I can't ping my printer anymore. Well, I can but not always.

Gimp 2.6.7 on FC 11 64 bit with HP Laserjet 4000T.

I can print a photo from Gimp if I use the "print preview" first and then select the print icon on the print preview window. When I don't do the preview and try to print without that step, the printer emits a blank page.

I have openSUSE 11.2 and printer Brother HL-2040 connected to my openSUSE laptop. It was correctly recognized by manufacturer and model and was "automagically" installed by downloading the appropriate driver. i got this problem with my printer, but it seems really a problem a lot of people are having.

i have ubuntu 10.04, and run on an parrallel port a hp 6l. the printer was found but could not print, the printing documents were pending and then disseappered.

Now i have connected a hp laserjet 8100 DN on the parrallel port.

I am using 12.04 64 bit. I have noticed if I configure (connect) any printer when my machine is connected to Lan (eth port) then it takes print job only if I am connected to Lan. If I try any printing job on wifi, it gets stuck in the print queue.

I have an HP Photosmart B210 this is a e-print printer capable of printing via wifi, I'm using this printer in Google cloud print, however there is a downside, the software that comes with it is only for Windows, so to print anything I'm using my Android device.

Transferring the file to my phone, then with HP's app or Cloud print app send the job to the printer which honestly is not that hard but
