I accidentally changed the default launch program on mari0 from love to archive program and when I look at the other application love is not there any one know how to fix this
Relative noob here. Need help trying to figure this one out:
I have a program (Guitar pro 6) that I want to associate to all .gpx files so that when i start such a file, it is started with that program.
Ubuntu 12.10 doesnt do that by default. It says it doesnt know which program to use and offers to identify that right program from a list. However, this program is not in the list.
The context menu for a .py file in file explorer is only giving the Choose default program... option in the context menu. Currently it runs it with python.exe by default. If I change the default program from the menu, open with still lists only choose... The choose program menu behaves normally. I only have this problem with .py associations as far as I know.
I know how to go to Properties on a file and set the default program with which to open that file type, but is it possible to set a default program for a certain file EXTENSION? I want to be able to open .MPO files with a Stereo Anaglyph Viewer through wine, but Ubuntu sees these as JPG-type files. So if I set the default program for MPO files, it sets JPG files to the same program....
I have tried all of the suggestions that indicate the Control Panel processes, but the program in question does not show up in the "Open with" or the file associations lists and I can see no way of adding it to methods of setting it as a default program.
Recently I installed BitComet. No when I click a torrent magnet link from chrome it opens with BitComet though I changed the settings of BitComet to not to be the default program to open magnet links. I couldn't find default magnet link settings in μTorrent.
I have a program which has not changed. It previously did not require User Account Control confirmation to launch, but now it does. My User Account Control Settings has not changed either; it is still Default - Notify me only when programs try to make changes to my computer.
I love that I can right click on any window and tell it to always stay on top. However, some programs that i use, i always keep on top, no exceptions. I'm wondering if there is a way to make these programs launch with that option enabled? I am using Xubuntu 12.04. An example would be using speedcrunch. What would i have to type in the terminal to make it launch as always on top?
