Hi everyone,
I am running Ubuntu 10.10 on a Dell Dimension 4700 desktop computer. I just upgraded to 10.10 from the previous version after getting my D-Link wireless adapter back after loaning it out. My internet now won't stay connected.
Hi,
I am new to Ubuntu. I just installed Ubuntu Netbook on my Dell Latitude D610. I need a wireless USB adapter to use the internet. I decided to make use of the SMC EZ Connect g 802.11g Wireless USB 2.0 Adapter, which I used on Windows XP. Unfortunately Ubuntu recognizes the adapter (lsusb in the terminal). But that's it.
I plan to install ubuntu on an old Dell Latitude C640 (mfr. 2003) and will increase RAM to 1GB. It has a Linksys Wireless N network adapter (model WPC300N V1). Two questions, what version of ubuntu should I download/install and will the Linksys wireless adapter work?
Hello all, I am a fresh convert to the linux scene and I know virtually nothing about this beautiful piece of engineering.
I recently reformatted and dual partitioned to both Windows 7 as well as ubuntu 10.10.
Loading works fine and Windows 7 is 100% operational. I cannot seem to get my wireless network adapter to be read by Ubuntus 'Windows Wireless Drivers' gui.
I am trying to find out which wireless adapters are known to be working with Ubuntu 12.10. I have tried over the past few days to get my ASUS USB N-13 wireless adapter to work under 12.10 (with some great help from this forum), but with no luck. I'm to the point that I will return the ASUS adapter to purchase one that is known to work.
I just recently installed Unbuntu 12.04 on my desktop. It easily recognized the Belkin USB Wireless N Adapter (F5D8053 v4), but every 5 to 10 minutes it will stop connecting to the internet. It continues to show that it is connected to the network, but nothing will download and pages will not load.
I was wondering if anyone could recommend some wireless adapters that are known to work well with Ubuntu. I have an all wireless setup now and before I buy the parts to build my new computer I was wondering if anyone knew of a sure-fire wireless adapter that I can count on to work.

The stick is OK, and all the other networks next door appear, however my local network is absent. The network shows up and works on my laptop running xp and windows 7 via their internal adapters.
It also worked fine in the desktop 30 mins before I loaded Ubuntu 9.1 on top
Stick is Belkin N Wireless Adapter bundled with Belkin N Wireless router Z528 ref no.
