When I restart my computer I found a strange error related to blue-tooth. Error is :
Failed to apply network settings
org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.Spawn.PermissionsInvalid: The permission of the setuid helper is not correct You might not be able to connect to the Bluetooth network via this machine.
My system is dual boot. One OS is ubuntu 12.04 and another is windows 7.
I'm runnint Ubuntu 11.10 and I keep facing this error message in a dialog box, right after I boot up my computer (already in graphical mode):

Why does Linux require that a user be root/using sudo/specifically authorized per mount in order to mount something? It seems like the decision as to whether to allow a user to mount something should be based on their access rights to the source volume/network share and to the mount point.

Scenario:
ASP.NET MVC 3 application
Window Server 2008
IIS 7
Network Mapped Drive( Z:/ with IP (..*.*)) to the share folder named samba of Linux machine.
Putty application
Promblem
I have ASP.NET MVC 3 application to upload file to network mapped drive i.e. share folder samba but it shows the error Access is denied while uploading the file to that folder.
I'm trying to mount my vbox shared folder every time my ubuntu starts.
So, I added an entry on /etc/init with this:
description "mount vboxsf Desktop"
start on startup
task
exec mount -t vboxsf Desktop /var/www/shared
Seems to work, except by the fact that all the files are owned by "root", and I don't have permission to write on the folder (neither chmod nor chown seems to be working).
Today when i try to ssh into server, i get permission denied. (same for sftp) Ut used to work well before. didn't change any server setting, except was trying to modify a few folders chown permission.
Root user can ssh/sftp without problem.
Any expert can help? thx
(for root user, there is no .ssh/authorized_keys file, only have .ssh/known_hosts file.
Amazon EC2-instance:
I made a user 'admin' and copied ec2-user's keys with proper permission.
After successful login, i tried to do sudo su for root access, it says 'admin is not in the sudoers file. This incident will be reported.'
However i can do sudo su with ec2-user account and can gain root access.
What is sudoer file?
I'm using Network Manager to connect to a secure wireless network on a publicly accessible kiosk machine.
The problem is, if the user manages to get to the desktop, the nm-applet is accessible by a non-root user. So a user can simply right click on a tray icon, edit connection settings and see the credentials for the wireless network in plain text.
