I have utorrent running on wine without issue. I click on the utorrent.exe and it opens and runs great. My problem is that even after setting .torrent files to open with utorrent (instead of transmission which is the defualt) and then try to open them NOTHING happens. I have to go into utorrent and open the torrent files.

This should be simple to implement, and will help your userbase slightly: offer magnet links on the #! downloads page in addition to serving the static .torrent file. Some network admins block the download of .torrent files by MIME type (often in school/university networks to fight piracy); magnet links circumvent this.
For now my girlfriend is using Transmission as the torrent downloader. She downloads magnet links and they start after a couple of seconds to download the content. Today she wants to try qbittorrent.
Hi everyone, I have in the past been able to download torrents with transmission from TPB in the past but they changed there site a bit and now they don't have the ".torrent" files that I always used to download torrents. When I try to just use the magnet links on TPB it just opens a extra google chrome browser (the web browser i use) but doesn't download the torrent.
Has anyone had any luck with trying to get xdg-open to work with magnet links in Chromium?
So there is a directory full of torrent files:
debian.iso.torrent
fedora.iso.torrent
I can start downloading them with a:
rtorrent *.torrent
command, when the working directory is the same where the torrents are.
But. Every time when I start rtorrent in this way it calculates all the hashes..it takes looong time do to that and it's a cpu intensive thing.
I have searched other thread but they all seem bit out of date, what torrent client do you recommend?
Currently I am using uTorrent on Android because of their reputation for desktop. But I can't even remove torrent and data at the same time in uTorrent app.
What is the best Torrent client current on the market?
