Hi. I've banged my head against this one for a few days and I'm about to give up. Any help greatly appreciated.
Fedora 17. Nvidia geforce 210 which has VGA, DVI and HDMI outputs in a Dell Optiplex 755. Using latest nvidia driver (310.19). The VGA port works fine. I can connect the DVI port to a TV and nvidia-settings will show that the TV is detected.
I hope someone can help! I bought a brand new computer (Intel® Pentium(R) CPU G2120 @ 3.10GHz × 2 with Intel® Ivybridge Desktop graphics), running Ubuntu 12.10. The graphics card has both VGA and HDMI output. My problem is that I cannot connect to my Dell monitor with only the HDMI cable. The HDMI cable goes through 'n DVI adapter into the Dell monitor.
I have a three month old Serval Professional from System76 I wanted to connect my laptop to my televisions LCD monitor.
I'm currently running on Ubuntu 11.10 when I connected my HDMI cable to the HDMI port and logged into Ubuntu the desktop appeared to show various red lines and would not go away.
When I unplugged the HDMI cable from the HDMI port and went back to using the laptop the red li
Hello :) I have a laptop with Unbuntu 12.04
I have connected my laptop with my hdmi-cable to the television.
But, unlike in Windows 7 i cant find HDMI as an output anywhere in the settings, neither for video nor audio. can anyone please tell me step by step how i do this ?
I am new to using Ubuntu and I have no idea why this happens;
Before used the HDMI output to a Sharp TV. Worked perfectly with Ubuntu 11.10, upgraded to Ubuntu 12.04 (Linux 3.2.0-25-generic) and stopped working, the display connected via HDMI it says "incompatible signal, check the device configuration," which never appeared in 11.10. I use a Dell Inspiron 1525 Laptop.
I've been using my Zenbook's HDMI port for watching movies on my TV a bit. Everything worked fine, until I wanted to turn off my screen whenever the HDMI cable was plugged in.
I did this in the settings under Screens menu.
hmmm. so I plugged in a TV with an HDMI cable and got video! awesome! but oh no, there's no sound!
This is from a laptop with an ATI Radeon card built in. Analog audio works and plays out from the laptop's speakers. But selecting the HDMI card doesn't play audio out the TV speakers. I know the hardware is good, because it works in Ubuntu, and so linux can do it.
I have a Sony 40" HDMI TV and I connected my Bonobo laptop to it via the HDMI port but I could find the signal. Do I have to do something to enable the HDMI video? After searching within this forum and google I could only find how to enable the AUDIO and NOT the video.
Any help/direction would be appreciated.
Regards.
Hi everyone, not sure where else to turn.I have a monitor that has built in speakers and a webcam (an asus, if wondering).I've tried everything to get audio working over HDMI (it is detected by alsa, but not pulse audio), and I can't raise the audio volume from alsamixer, and it is NOT muted. It is detected in paman as an INPUT device, not output device.
