[ubuntu] Having trouble with sound on a Toshiba laptop

http://ubuntuforums.org – Hey everyone, I just downloaded Ubuntu version 9.0.4 on my Satellite A505-S6965. Everything seems to be in working order except I cannot get the sound to work, or the wireless networking card. I tried installing the drivers off of Toshiba's website, except for they are all Vista compatible only. Being a linux noob (lol), I have no idea on what to do. Hey everyone,

I'm using Ubuntu 12.10, and I'm not getting any sound from my Toshiba Satellite P100's internal speakers. I have an Intel NM10/ICH7 Family High Definition Audio Controller, and it's recognized by the system when I type lspci -v | grep -A7 -i "audio" into the CLI. My sound card is also listed in the Ubuntu sound card matrix, so it should be supported.

I upgraded to the latest ubuntu version, karmic cola and every since I have had trouble with my sound. I have a Toshiba Tecra and my sound worked with the last version of ubuntu but every since I upgraded the sound has been glitchy. It started with just having trouble when I let it hibernate.

Sorry another problem.

I've installed Ubuntu 12.04 on my Toshiba Satellite P200 laptop, and the sound won't work at all. I've been through all the trouble shooting process but still no sound.

I installed additional drivers package and still no sound

Can you please help me, the hardware is a ATI/AMD Propietary FGLRX graphics driver.

Hi Everyone, I just installed 10.04 on my laptop and the wireless connection does not work, I plug in the wired and it works great. If anyone can help that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

i've installed Ubuntu on a Toshiba Satellite A65 laptop and i don't get sound every time i start up. on a previous laptop i used to have problems with conflicts between audio software and firefox, but this time the sound can go out even before using any programs.

any fixes?

Hi, I'm completely new to Ubuntu and Linux style operating systems. I just installed it today, and so far it's working great, except that I have no sound. :( I'm running Ubuntu 9.10 on a Toshiba Satellite A105 S4201 laptop. Not sure how to go about fixing this, can anyone possibly help me out? Thanks! -Chris

I had installed Ubuntu 11.04 on my girlfriend's new laptop recently, it's a Toshiba Satellite L745-S4210 And at first things were perfect. Her Skype worked and the sound. But now, for some reason when she goes on Skype, her mic is not being recognized. So she can hear other people, but they cannot hear her when she talks. Also, the sound coming out of the speakers is now abnormally poor quality.

My Mom bought a laptop last year, it was a low end laptop. It's a Toshiba Satellite C650 I think.

I notice that once the laptop has been idle for awhile, the wireless internet disables, and I have to restart it to get it working again.

The laptop is set up the same as the rest of the computers, and non of the others have any problem with it.
