[ubuntu] Has the intel 845 graphics card problem been solved yet?

http://ubuntuforums.org – The problem is that I can't activate the visual effects (compiz) with an intel 845 graphics card, and this has been a problem in ubuntu for some time now.. Is there yet a solution for it? (I'm using ubuntu 9.10 currently). (Hardware)

i have intel dg41rq motherboard and using 9.04 jaunty.i am not a complete newbie.

I have a problem to activate Desktop effects in Ubuntu 9.10.

I have a intel 855GM card with 3D aceleration enabled but when try activate desktop effects a window with error appeard.

If I try activate 3d effects whith compiz --replace an error whith blacklisted appears.

I just installed Ubuntu 12.04 and absolutely love it , but when i go to system details it says graphics unknown, is this a problem ? i have a acer aspire 5750, and a Intel 3000 HD graphics card.There also no additional drivers to be installed, but on another computer i needed to install additional drivers and it showed the grapics card.

Would I be able to use ubuntu special effects on normal or extra using a Intel GMA 950 graphics card? Im making a new computer and have never been able to use special effects in ubuntu.

Will I also be able to install compiz and use effects like the cube?

Also, the specs, are intel atom 1.6ghz 64 bit processor, and 2gb ram.

I installed Ubuntu 12.10 64 bit in my Dell N5110 and i had a major problem my screen flashes all the time especially when i open mozilla and other applications ,i get a message "Gpu Hang",what can i do about that?

Hey , I have ubuntu installed on my iMac model 8,1 and it randomly goes to sleep, sometimes when it gets out of sleep mode the screen goes light blue but you can still see the desktop apps and everything and it doesn't go back to normal untill I restart my computer. Hi, I am using intel desktop 845 with 2.0 processor and having 1gb ram. But i am facing graphical problem. When i try to install and reach in graphics mode my system halt. And screen become blur. Now i made text base installation. it installed well but still i can't see graphics mode. Fedora is running as text base on my pc. When i try to move to graphics based then it halt again.
