I have downloaded a big .MOV file with subtitles embedded on it. But when I play it the subtitles aren't displayed. I then found out that Videos/Subtitle Track/caption - [English] was not enabled, so I enabled it. I was able to see the subtitles for a very brief while (say, half a second or less), but then they disappeared.
I have an .srt file and a video file .mp4. Now I want to render the srt to the video file.
The reason for this is that I want to upload the video on youtube.
I would like to also be able to choose a background color behind the subtitles as the video already has some subtitles in an other language at some places.
I have a mkv video I want to convert to mp4, but every which way I try and convert it (Handbrake, WinFF, ffmpeg, mencoder,...I lose the video's subtitles. How can I convert the video, keeping the subtitles, or add a subtitles.srt?
I also would like 2 pass encoding with a video bitrate of 3556 and audio bitrate of 160.
Thanks.
I've noticed recently that the default video output driver (xv) in both Smplayer (with mplayer2) and VLC player causes subtitles to be displayed with an added blur in fullscreen. It's likely an issue with scaling, since it's a lot less pronounced in HD video. It disappears after switching to gl and in the case of VLC to X11 as well.
Another alternative to using kate subtitles in an Ogg video would be to use the existing SRT subtitles in a Matroska video container.
I like keeping a collection of my favorite TV shows and Movies along with the subtitles. For a single playback, I won't mind fixing the subtitle from the player's settings, even though its frustrating most of the times, but while making a collection, you need perfect subtitles. Finding the correct one is not an easy task and neither is editing it.
I am trying to sync a subtitle file using Gnome Subtitles to a video in .mkv format. The problem is the language against which I am syncing is on the second audio track, and I cannot find a way to change the one that is played. Is it possible to do so in gnome subtitles. If not, would it be possible to remove the other audio tracks in a seperate program?
First of all, hello! As the title suggests, I'm trying to use an utility that allows me to watch an online video with subtitles. I know MPlayer can do this (creating a small window with subtitles only) and I really like a software I've used in Windows and which also works in Linux (with Mono installed), that's called Greenfish Subtitle Player.
If you need to modify or edit the movie subtitle file, you can do this easily using this Subtitles Modifier 2.9.6. This software provide an easy way to edit the subtitles for movie or any video. Its pretty easy to use.Download link for Subtitles Modifier 2.9.6 can be downloaded from the link below this post.
