http://ubuntuforums.org – i have a Matrox G45FMDVP32DB Millennium G450 Video Card that i have put in my computer. i hooked up the monitor and downloaded the drivers for linux from the manufacturers site. the display works but i do not know if the up to date drivers work. i click on the install.sh the run then it dissapers. i do not know if the new drivers have been installed. i cannot find anything like a device manager to tell me if the card is up to date and working. i go to "system administrator hardwaredrivers" and it is blank. it does say that there are no proprietary drivers in use on this system. i am of course new to linux, but windows seems alot moe use freindly. any help would be appieciated. sorry my spelling sucks. also how do i find what version of ubuntu i am using? it came installed on the machine and i can't find this info. dell optiplex gx 260 p4 1.8 778 mb ram (Hardware)
