I just got done installing Ubuntu 12.04 on my PC and whenever I use Firefox web browser I notice that the scroll slider grab bar (the thing I click on and grab with my mouse pointer) on the right hand side of the browser window is almost cut off from view by the edge of the monitor screen by default.
In System Settings > Appearance in both Ubuntu and Ubuntu 2D, there is no icon size slider (in pixel units). How can I get access to the slider, which I know is visible in some installations of 12.04? Note this question is about the missing slider; not about changing the icon size.
I'm writing an app for Ubuntu Phone with QtQuick and Ubuntu Components.
I have multiple tabs layout (New Tabs) and a horizontal Slider. When I move the slider, the tabs switch too. Is there a way to disable this, so I can set slider to a value without switching tabs.
There's an example of this in PhoneComponentShowcase.qml. Try moving the slider around and notice tabs also moving.
The sound on this machine worked pretty well until a few days ago (okay, so sound is not the very most important thing to me, but, the lack of it is getting old). When I click the speaker icon it always says "Mute", when I set it to "Unmute" the slider goes to zero. When I move the slider off of zero, the status goes to "Mute".
So, does anyone know what's going on with my system?
thanks.

I absolutely love my OV (mostly due to the awesome ROMs/mod community), but this price is just too good to pass up on the Slider... and the Triumph is still to damn expensive. (Obviously a "granddaddy speaking here ;) )
Who's with me?
Does the Optimus Slider have the same internal memory as the regular Optimus?
I currently have the optimus and the lack of internal memory is getting annoying. Does the Optimus slider have a better internal memory?
First of all I'm sorry if this has been posted before but I couldn't find any topic on this specific issue after searching around.I got a acer aspire 8730G. It got a few shiny media keys with background light and a volume slider. Setting up most of those keys were no problem since they use the normal XF86Audio keys signals.
Just installed Ubuntu 11.10. Been a while since I used any distro and I'm very impressed.
To be difficult, does anyone know how to enable the middle mouse button scroll option when browsing? I don't know if this is an OS level thing or browser config. option.
In Windows, you can usually click the mouse wheel to bring up a scroll icon when using browsers.
Ubuntu 9.10 seems to be forgetting my keyboard preferences - or more specifically one setting in particular.
