I was under the impression that the Gazelle Professional laptop comes with Intel HD4000 integrated graphics (which it does).
But what is confusing me is that it has a couple of nVidia stickers on it. Does that mean that it actually has the nVidia chips in it as well, and just not enabled right now? Or are the nVidia stickers a mistake?
In another thread someone said the HDMI doesn't work reliably on the Gazelle. Can someone tell me if this is true? Does installing Ubuntu 13.10 make it work? I use my laptop for a lot of presentations and movie watching so it's important that HDMI works well for both sound and video.
Also, can someone upload a sample of the microphone quality?
I've got a Gazelle Professional, starting yesterday both fans came on at full speed and haven't stopped since (both CPU and GPU). They even do it before Ubuntu loads- as soon as the power comes on. I checked the temp using the sensors command - 41C. They are extremely loud and kind of pulse. Anyone got any idea what is causing this and how to fix it ?
I've got my Gazelle Professional laptop about a week ago.
It works fine except since I bought it turned off itself unexpectedly two times. Both times I was at the computer and was pressing keys in the right bottom part of the keyboard (maybe this is relevant?), like "->" and Ins. The temperature of the system is low enough.
System76 recently sent over their Haswell-based Gazelle Professional laptop that sports HD Graphics 4600, a fancy Intel SSD, 8GB of system memory, and a beautiful HD display. This Haswell Linux laptop has already been used for testing within a few Phoronix articles while now is a full look at this Ubuntu laptop along with some comparison performance tests.
I have a brand new Gazelle Professional (gazp9) running Ubuntu 13.04. When my 3 mm headphones are plugged in there is no sound. I have tried making sure that alsamixer settings allow sound to the headphones (like disabling auto-mute and ensurring that the audio volume is not zero). Nothing seems to work.
