Using Ubuntu 12.04 on Dell Precision M6400, I have started to get odd results when I close the lid to try to suspend. Up to a few weeks ago this worked fine, however now it just crashes the PC and a full reboot is required to get control.
In 11.10 I was able to suspend this laptop with no issues.
No when I click suspend in the status menu, the screen clears and it "feels like" it is going to suspend, but then it wakes up immediately (to a locked screen -- I'm asked for passwd).
Googling hasn't produced anything useful, so I'm asking here...
Hello, I have a problem with WOL(Wake-On-Lan) and suspend mode.
In my labatory, we use ASROCK main board B75M .
We tested on ubuntu 12.10.
However, WOL and suspend mode does not work.
For, example
When we use 'pm-suspend' , to target pc, it works well without WOL
But, when we use 'pm-suspend' after WOL, it does not work properly.
The target pc does not go into suspend mode.
Running 12.04. I can manually suspend the system and wake it up again, but I can't get it to suspend on inactivity automatically.
I have it set to "Suspend when inactive for" 10 minutes in systems settings > power. It just blanks the screen, but does not suspend.
Info as requested.
My laptop (SONY VAIO VGN-NS140E) shuts down when I close the lid or manually put it on suspend, even though I set values for both battery and plug to suspend in Power Management. It also shuts down instead of suspending when I choose "suspend" from the menu.

I have a Dell Latitude D830, running Ubuntu 9.04. It used to suspend and hibernate fine, without any issues, but all of a sudden (I'm not sure when) it stopped waking up from both suspend and hibernate. When I "power" the computer back on, all I get (after the initial Dell screen) is a white flashing cursor in the top left corner of my screen.
Hi.
I have a suspend problem with my t61. I can suspend only once. After that one suspend, when I press Fn+F4 eg. suspend to ram again screen goes blank, hdd spins down, then after a few seconds hdd spins up again, but screen remains black. Nothing else helps than forced reboot. Then I have one suspend left again :)
Since I don't use my laptop very often, I can't really tell when it started.
Hello
I recently installed Fedora 18 on my machine and have spend a few days on configuring it. I am using the kernel version 3.7.4.
I have unfortunately faced the following two very strange issues that I couldn't solve them:
1. Suspend to RAM does not work. When I choose suspend I get the black text mode screen with log messages but the system does not suspend.
