The second Alpha images of the upcoming Ubuntu GNOME Remix 12.10 distribution was announced yesterday, September 13th, by Jeremy Bicha and the Ubuntu Gnome Community.
Ubuntu GNOME Remix is a new official Ubuntu flavor that aims to bring a pure upstream GNOME desktop experience built from the Ubuntu 12.10 repositories.
An alpha version of Ubuntu GNOME Remix is a developer snapshot that will give you a very early glance at the next version of Ubuntu GNOME Remix.
Ubuntu Gnome Remix has following features:

Since a lot of the info in my original post is now outdated I felt it best to start a new thread related solely to Jeremy Bicha's Ubuntu GNOME Remix Beta release which is explained in the release notes here:

I want to try Ubuntu (tried different distro's many times before), but none were really to my liking. I always seem to be drawn to Ubuntu, thanks to the PPA's and software. What I don't like is Unity, particularly the Dash.

I began to follow this project during Quantal development and you may find some useful notes here:

This project should not be confused with UGR, Ubuntu GNOME Shell Remix, or any other project.
The differences are stark, as the release notes say, "The Ubuntu GNOME Remix is a mostly pure GNOME desktop experience built from the Ubuntu rep
