I have SANE and SANE-scanner installed in my Ubuntu 12.04 box. I have an Epson V500 flatbed scanner, tied by USB to my machine. On my network I also have an HP All-in-One that has scanner functionality. Both are detected by the computer as scanners. I want to always use the Epson scanner but can't find a way to tell SANE-scanner to use the (second listed) Epson scanner.
Okay so I bought a Kodak all in one printer/scanner/copier and was able to get a driver for the printer to work, but not the scanner; so I kept my old hp 3-in-1 so I could scan and it was working great. Thing is I think when I tried installing sane from the git repository because it supposively would allow the Kodak scanner to work, now the hp scanner won't be detected.
kinda new to ubuntu been using it for a year. Running 11.10 In the past i've been able to solve my issues by searching the internet. But now I'm trying to install cannon pixma mx432 printer scanner. I got the printer working but I'm having a hard time with the scanner i get this message when i have sane find scanner
# sane-find-scanner will now attempt to detect your scanner.
Here's another thing, Ihave a HP officejet 4200 series-Hp psc 1310 series printer/scanner combo. The printer works fine. Unbuntu 12.4 does not recognize the scanner. I have inserted the driver disk but only the various files( 56 total ) are displayed. I don't have a clue as to how to use them. Is there a plugin I can download to get this particular Hp scanner to work with my Ubuntu 12.4](*,)
I ran into something like this getting my neighbor's scanner working on his Linux box. But that was a couple of years ago... and my memory sucks...
Hi,
I am using Ubuntu 9.10
I have the above all in one printer
The printer seems fine, but I cannot get the scanner to work.
I have installed drivers and read and read and read and tried everything I can find.
brsaneconfig2 -q shows up the scanner
Xsane shows the scanner to choose, but after it sits there for a minute, I get:

I have a Brother MFC-9440CN and was working fine till I changed the IP range
I am unable to change the Scanner to a new Ip address
$ brsaneconfig3 -q | grep SCANNER
0 SCANNER "MFC-9440CN" I:192.168.5.3
I need to change it to 192.168.1.09
this is what I used to set it up the first time-I did try again with new IP
$ brsaneconfig3 -a name=SCANNER model=MFC_9
I am using the Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic, and I am having a hard time running my CanoScan LiDE 200 and I was told that it should just work with my XSane, but my XSane won't register the Scanner so I checked for any missing plug ins to the XSane and added only one item that said it works for my scanner but my scanner still won't work.
