This is a bit of an odd question, and I don't think 'laggy' is the right word, but bear with me.
I installed Ubuntu 12.04 some time ago after a windows crash on a desktop I use from time to time; more recently I upgraded (note upgraded) to 12.10.
Moving my mouse over the Unity launcher feels like I'm moving my mouse over the desktop wallpaper. Lifeless. Will the developers ever consider animating the launcher so that the mouse experience is a bit enhanced? I'm not here to give ideas, but even if the icons increased in size on a mouse-over event, would be a better than nothing. Or changed colour.
I just installed 12.04 on an Alienware m14x, I use a Cyborg MMO7 mouse. When the mouse is plugged in I can click on the launcher bar stuff on the left but once a window is open I can't do anything with it. I cant close it or move to other windows without alt tab.
I have tried editing the xorg file thing, but it didn't work.
Hi, my name is Jonathan. I am using a Samsung rv515, on several tries to install Ubuntu 12.04 on my laptop, my touchpad is EXTREMELY laggy and refuses to work right. I had no right-click. It would work just extremely laggy to a point that I cannot use it. It took me an hour to get the mouse to get online.
My bluetooth mouse (Dell BT Mouse) was working fine in Ubuntu after installing the OS. I just followed the gui prompts to connect it.
Then, after some time (right around the time I paired the same mouse with the windows OS installed on the same machine), the BT mouse stopped working. I tried again and again to pair it and it failed.
So here I am again, with another thread about gnome shell.
I'm fairly new so I'll try to be clear. I have a Samsung RV510 laptop (Dual core, 4GB Ram, Chipset graphics etc) In the past I have used Windows 7 and 8 on the machine and 3D/2D graphics have run fluid and fast. Since putting Ubuntu 12.10 on the machine, opening up the console, watching youtube vids or moving windows around just seems to be very laggy or jittery.
For some reason when navigating through the OS its like there's a mode that swtiches from moving the window to navigating through the things inside the window and I have no idea what is going on. I am brand new to Ubuntu and linux in general. If there is any help that any can give all will be much appreciated. I am using a R.A.T 5 mouse if that triggers anything.
I installed 12.04 using WUBI on a working W7 64bit system.
both KB and mouse work perfect during the BIOS boot, and on the bootmgr, I can select Windows 7 or Ubuntu to load.
Once I select Ubuntu, the KB and mouse seem to loose their power (light on the mouse and Numlock leds go off)
After couple of seconds, the screen gets blurry.
