hi,
I've got a weird wireless problem and I don't know why it is as it is...
I have a old laptop here model Fujtisu Siemens Amilo Pro V2040 and have no real problems aside from the wireless.
It didn't work after installing and when I entered the BIOS and enabled wireless it then found my wireless and was able to connect to it but constantly prompts me for a password and will not load any pages.
I have lost absolutely too many hours (days, if not months) trying and trying and trying to get the wireless card to work on my Fujitsu Siemens laptop Amilo Li2727 under Linux.
I have an old, OLD!, Fujitsu Siemens Amilo 1720 that works fairly well with Xubuntu 12.10 out-of-the-box.
Problem is that the wireless sometimes goes crazy...
It will tell me that there's a hardware block (From RFKill), even though the laptop doesn't have a switch for it.
The solution is, wierd as it is, to do this:
Code:
sudo vi /etc/modprobe.d/blacklists.conf
add "blacklist acer-wmi
Dear All,
I made a fresh xubuntu 9.10 installation on my laptop (amilo pa 3553 fujitsu-siemens,amd64 architecture).
The problem is that the network manager applet does not allow me to enable wireless. I have always had problems with my own wireless card, but I have also tried 2 usb wireless sticks: Belkin Wireless-G USB Adapter and D-link DWL-G122 (allegedly linux-friendly).
I have fujitsu siemens amilo pro v3505 laptop.
I have two systems installed. They are:
- Ubuntu 12.04;
- Windows 7.
I do not have a special button to switch on / off the Wireless adapter. The button can be supported by drivers.
Case 1.
When I start Win7 WiFi is enabled (I had to install the driver to be able to switch it on automatically). I reboot and then WiFi is enabled for Ubuntu.
I can't get wireless to work on my computer - I have recently installed ubuntu 12.4
Computer name: (Fujitsu siemens ESPRIMO Mobile u9200)
Hardware button starts bluetooth - so can't start that way.
Have searched the Internet for help but can't find any on my specific problem!
State: connected (global)

Never mind: already solved by finding hardwear switch
Recently installed Ubuntu 11.10 on a Fujitsu Amilo 1630. For the first few days the wireless worked fine. Yesterday I started up the computer and all the wireless options are greyed out as "wireless is disabled by hardwear switch"
I am not dual-booting with a windows system.
