Hello,
I am running Fedora 13 64bit with Gnome, on Acer Aspire 7730ZG Laptop with Dobly Home Theater Surround Sound 5.1.
When I goto sound Sound Preferences, click the hardware tab,I select Analog Surround 5.1 Output and select Test Speakers, Only the Front Right, Front Left, Front Center have the test sounds working.
After recent kernel upgrade speakers in my laptop stopped working (only headphones output works).I had been using ALSA.I switched to OSS to bring the speakers back and it works.I'm fine with OSS unless all of my apps recognize and work with it flawlessly.(Internal mic however works neither with ALSA nor with OSS :-( )Searching the net I found that it's an overall problem with this piece
Greetings forum.
As the title alludes to, I am using Linux Lite 1.0.4 and I am having problems getting the sound to work properly.
My sound card is a PCI - "Creative Labs, Sound Blaster Live 5.1" surround sound card, and the problem is, I cannot get sound from anything other than the front speakers.
I have tried adjusting the options in the sound preferences - Menu> Multimedia>
Hello, could you help me. I could not get surroundsound running. It is an Asus A5ION board with ALC887 chip onboard. It has 3 jacks on back that should offer 5.1 sound according to the manual of the board and 2 jacks on front panel. Speaker-test -D surround51 -c 6 gives me sound on LF,Center,RF and very low volume sound on RR,RL with some mumbel from the sub, sub test mubles sub.
Hi, I am having an issue with the sound output on my thinkpad x60. It only has a headphone jack no speakers. I read the alsa wiki thoroughly and even got the low sound workaround, but it just made things sound distorted no help with the volume.
Hi,
I recently did a new install of 12.04 now I'm having sound issues.
I'm trying to get my Audigy2 to provide me with 5.1 sound but presently ALSA mixes the speakers incorrectly.
I set up my fathers computer (Ubuntu 11.10) and receiver using Setup_audio_over_HDMI_on_nVidia_GeForce/nForce_controller and the mapping using Pulseaudio worked great when using speaker-test but when we play stereo audio there is sound in front l, front r AND front center but no lfe.
My laptop (Acer Aspire 7738g) has two front speakers and left speaker, but as default sound come only from front speakers.
When I change in /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf the following line:
options snd-hda-intel model=acer-aspire-6530g
Left speaker is working, but only left channel is played on it.
