[ubuntu] Firefox 11 no videos

http://ubuntuforums.org – I just upgraded to Firefox 11 with Update Manager, and now I cannot play videos of any type in Firefox. I am on Ubuntu 11.10x64. I have Flash Aid 2.2.3 installed. I tried using the Wizard mode of that, but all it did was remove the existing Flash plugin and reinstall the same one: Version 11.1r102. If I run Check Update, I get a message saying there are no no flash updates at this moment. How can I get flash back so I can play videos in Firefox 11 or revert back to Firefox 10? (Hardware)

I know Firefox won't display mp4 videos, but from what I've read Flash can be used to play them. We have Firefox version 18.0.1 and Flash version 11.5.502.146

How can I make it so that when a user goes to a page with mp4 it plays it properly using flash? (or, if flash isn't the answer, the most accepted way to make it happen)

I have installed Ubuntu 11.10 in my system with gnome shell.

When I try to watch any videos on any video streaming website in Firefox, I am not able to watch. At the same time those videos can be played in Chromium browser.

I have already installed Flash 11 and the Flash plugin for Firefox as well.

When I installed 12.04 I also added Ubuntu-restricted-extras. I decided to try accessing flash content in Firefox without the Adobe plugin, and I wanted to experiment with streaming video directly with VLC, so I removed flashplugin-installer.

Hello, I ve installed ubuntu 12.04.1 on my pc, (athlon xp 2200 - ATI Radeon 9800)

and when I go to YouTube with Firefox, the videos won't play... they load, but all I get is a black screen. The same happens when I navigate facebook, the embedded videos won't play.

the flash player plugin is installed, and also shockwave flash...

what could be wrong?

Shockwave plugin for Firefox 3 years 28 weeks ago

I installed shockwave to try and get a game working. The game ended up not working correctly and shockwave installe da plugin to play flash content in Firefox. So now Firefox won't play flash content. I removed Shckwave but Shockwave left the plugin for Firefox. I cannot seem to getrid of it I even reintalled the flash plugin to no avil.

Been having problems with flash, and I really need some help.

I have tried to uninstall and reinstall in yast no luck. uninistalled again.

I downloaded and installed Adobe Flash 10 rpm direct from adobe. I shut down firefox and then restarted...went to youtube.... no luck. I get the annoying error:

Loaded a new x32 machine with FC17 XFCE. I went through the adobe flash plugin install procedure. All that went without incident. Used all the latest updates for FC17 and flash.

I try youtube, the videos seem to load but never start to play. Just a black square. Now, go to the plug in control panel DISABLE flash. Go back to the page re-load and the video plays just fine.

Who likes to watch stream videos inside the flash videoplayer? Not me.That's how I got rid of it.First of all you have to install the flashblock plugin in your browser (there's a version for chromium and firefox). Other browsers, like xxxterm can be configured to obtain the same result.

It started a few days ago, around Feb 14.

I'm running Firefox on Ubuntu, Lucid Lynx, with Shockwave Flash (flash player) 11.2 r202 which was just updated on Feb 15.

Just about that time I noticed that some of the videos on youtube.com won't play, the video play object says "This video is currently unavailable".

Then after a while, more and more until all videos on youtube.com wo
