Hello everyone.
After reading a guide on my laptop built-in fingerprint reader and how to get it to work, I am having troubles.
http://www.aldeby.org/blog/howto-ubu.../9#fingerprint
Running Ubuntu 9.10
So I installed libpam-fprint, fprint-demo, libfprint-dev, etc..
Enrolled fingerprint..
Added the following 2 lines to /etc/pam.d/common-auth
Code:
auth sufficient pam_fprint.so
I've followed just about every fprint guide I can find, but my fingerprint reader on my HP dm4-3090se still does not work. The driver cannot be found.
Is there no compatible driver for the AES2665 fingerprint reader?
I recently upgraded to Ubuntu 13.04, and I'm having some password issues. Both my fingerprint reader and my password appear to be non functional. Every time I swipe my finger, it says "NOT IDENTIFIED" and when I enter my password, it says it's incorrect. The first thing I tried to fix this is resetting it through the recovery console. This did not help.
I have my home folder encrypted. If I change my login password with the passwd command, do I need to change anything else for the encrypted home folder to still work properly?
Also, if I need to access the encrypted directory manually later on (from a liveCD, putting the HDD in another machine, etc.), do I need to use the login password or the passphrase to get into it?
Hi all,I have a new HP dv6 with a fingerprint reader from Validity Sensors. I've got a new laptop which is Lenove's E420s.
And I have encountered a big problem that I can't make the fingerprint reader work properly.
I've also tried fingerprint-gui.
i just installed 9.10 and was wondering how i could get my fingerprint reader on my thinkpad t61 to work?
any help would be much appreciated!
I have followed the tutorial on the Arch Wiki (https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Fingerprint-gui) to enable fingerprint authentication using the fingerprint-gui, changing the files /etc/pam.d/sudo and /etc/pam.d/su as described.su is working fine with fingerprint, however when I try to use sudo, first it prompts for a password, like this:"Password:"Then if you type anything, it asks f
