i have a lenovo-thinkPad which came with a fingerprint reader, i'm ussing ubuntu 14.04 and i have no idea how to enable. I already used:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:fingerprint/fingerprint-gui
sudo apt-get update
but this GUI did not recognizes my device.
does anyone knows any other option.
I have a ThinkPad with a fingerprint reader installed. In windows I can log in perfectly fine without typing a password. Is there any way to unlock the login keyring from the fingerprint scanner? I already have fingerprint gui installed and it does not seem to solve the problem.
Hi all,I have a new HP dv6 with a fingerprint reader from Validity Sensors. Me, and a lot of other HP owners are unable to use the fingerprint reader, because there are no linux drivers for it (even fprint wouldn't recognize it). Now, the Validity sensor website has provided a linux setup for the reader, but it is only in rpm.
I've been getting a persistent warning in Windows 7 that I need to install a fingerprint reader driver. This is absurd because my computer does not have a fingerprint reader! Is there a way to make it stop giving me these warnings? I mean, I could let it install the driver anyhow, but what's the point of installing drivers for a device I plainly don't have?
