[ubuntu] Failed to install Software

http://ubuntuforums.org – Hello Everyone..... Iam unable to install any software from ubuntu Software center... It is giving error message as "Failed to install package...check your internet connection... and then another error "requires installaton of untrusted packages....The action would require the installation of packages from not authenticated sources" iam using ubuntu 11.10... What might be the problem... this is the second time iam facing the same problem.... previously it was solved by using "sudo apt-get update" command... but this time it is not working... Please help me... (Hardware)

I've been having major problems lately with the Ubuntu Software Center. Every time I try to install something, I get the message "Requires installation of untrusted packages" and gives me the options "ok" and "repair". If I click "ok", then the installation aborts and nothing happens.

I'm running Ubuntu 12.04 LTS 64bit. I'm attempting to install TeamViewer 7. I've gone to the TeamViewer website and downloaded their Debian package for the application.

I have just installed the ppa for the Wine. I try to update my machine from the new ppa, but I get the error :

"The action would require the installation of packages from not authenticated sources."

I looked over the internet and I found that all I need to do is go to the update manager > Settings > Ubuntu Software and check the Source code checkbox.

can not install update and software. whenever i try to do so error comes with-

"Requires installation of untrusted packages The action would require the installation of packages from not authenticated sources.

and the installation gets stop.

When I install packages from Ubuntu software Center I always get an error:

Error Message :- "Failed to download package files Check your Internet connection."

How to fix this?

Hi,

Ubuntu requires elevated privileges to install some software. In the pop-up where the root password is asked, if you click on details, you see "Action" and "Vendor". What's the purpose of Action? Nothing happens when I click on "Install or remove packages"

Hey guys,

I had a fresh installation of Ubuntu 12.04 x64 and after installing Gfx Card Drivers, I tried installing Ubuntu-Restricted-Extras, which due to lack of time, I cancelled in between.

Now, I'm getting this error when I try to install anything.

Actually, I did try with force install/upgrade option, but that error won't go away.

I just connected my e-mail with Thunderbird and started using it.

After setting the mail, I ran update manage and found that there are number of updates for Thunderbird. But, when I click on them, following error is shown by update manager.

whenever I try to install any package from software centre it shows : Requres installation of untrusted packages,The action would require the installation of packages from unauthenticated sources. Need urgent help.
