I'm new-ish to Ubuntu.
My motherboard ethernet input has broken so I am now trying to use an USB adapter.
The TRUlink ethernet adapter (USB 2.0 10/100/1000 Ethernet Adapter) that I am trying to use does not seem to be working in Ubuntu 11.04.
The output from "lspci | grep Ethernet" is:
Code:
02:00.0 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd.
Hi there,
I have not used Linux since university and I finally got fed up with windows, so I installed Opensuse 11.2 on my Dell D430. Changed the wireless adapter to an intel one and everything work, except the Broadcom ethernet 5257 Adapter.
I tried everything with my limited knowledge, using the bnx2 module instad, blacklisting tg3 etc but to no avail... no eth0
I have a small home router running OpenWrt (Kind of embedded Linux for routers). It has five Ethernet ports, one labeled WAN and four labeld LAN 1 to 4.
I did a first time install of Ubuntu 11.10 using Wubi and the ethernet connection on my laptop. (so I know that the ethernet interface is working and connected correctly). I finished the install and booted up Ubuntu. The wireless connection works find, but I am not able to get the wired connection to work.
New to Linux/Ubuntu, I have searched and tried a number of suggested solutions posted here and on other Ubuntu forums.
My son received a computer with Xubuntu 9.04 already installed. We first tried a wireless adapter for internet connection, but got no results so I have run a cable directly to the Verizon Router 9100EM, but it connected to google.com and then disconnected.
Hi,
I have problems with ethernet (eth0 Wired connection) since I installed Raring (for about 4 days). I'm considering raising a bug report related to the kernel, but I thought it might be good idea to consult it there :)
So, the problem is: System boot -> everything ok. After some random time, in scale of minutes to hours, connection becomes totally unresponsive at one moment.
Hi,
obviously, I have just started using Linux. I have installed Ubuntu 10.04 on my Acer 5735z (specs an be found here).
PROBLEM:
I manage to get a wireless connection with my pc, but when trying to use an Ethernet cable to connect the result is a slow Internet connection which jump online/offline.
In short: I'd like to be able to telnet to my modem from my PC via my router.
There is a simple home router on 192.168.33.1. It is running OpenWrt.
