I own a toshiba laptop and have a disk protection hardware (HDD protection).
I would like to know if there is some software to enable protection, like HDAPS for ThinkPads.

I have an old CD with laserlock protection. The disk is old and I want to make a backup. I use the disk for running a software, the disk needs to be inserted every time I launch the app. How can I clone the original disk or remove the encryption so that I can run the app without the disk? I've tried regular disk cloners (Alcohol, CdClone, DAEMON tools) but they didn't work.

Is simply enabling the firewall ufw (sudo ufw enable) sufficient enough for protection of the OS ? I mean should extra rules be added for 'better' protection, or is simply enabling the firewall enough for good results and protection from hackers or other stuff ?
