I thought that I had set syndaemon to disable the touchpad while I type, and for 0.8 seconds afterwards. In order to change the default touchpad delay of 2.0 seconds, which is hard-coded into the touchpad settings dialog, I unchecked "Disable touchpad while typing" and added "syndaemon -i 0.8 -K -R -t" to the list of startup applications.
Hi all, I've searched for a solution to this, but nothing seems to work. Any advice would be realy appreciated. I'm trying to use syndaemon to prevent touchpad tap-clicks while I'm typing. For example, I used the command
Code:
syndaemon -t -i 1
which is supposed to disable tapping while typing, with a one-second delay until tapping is restored.
Just a quick note to say that for me trying to turn off the touchpad while typing using the menu item System->Preferences->Mouse, then the "Touchpad" tab and "Disable touchpad while typing" didn't work. Accidentally touching the touchpad kept moving the curser around frunstratingly whenever I was typing.
Hi,
so I'm new at linux, and I cant seem to uncheck disable touchpad while typing. Since I don't hit the touchpad much while typing[I round my hands like when I play piano lol], I would like to uncheck it, so I can ctrl+click links etc and play games.
But when I uncheck it, it doesn't act any differently.
I'm running a Eee PC 1005HA
Any help?
Hey, I using 9.10 and I have noticed that my touchpad is disabled automatically when typing. I would like to find a way to change this so it does not happen at all.
I'm on Ubuntu 12.04 64-bit on a Dell M1330. I've been having issues with the keyboard, touchpad and media buttons. Between 1 and 10 seconds after I start typing something, the webcam light will blink and the touchpad stops working. From then on, the media buttons won't work at all.
The option to disable the touchpad while typing does not work on my Samsung RC512 with an Elantech touchpad and I enjoy two-finger scroll and middle-click emulation with two fingers too much to disable tapping the touchpad. When I type the cursor will jump around because I'll hit the touchpad with my palm. How can I disable one-finger tapping but keep multi-finger tapping?
I'm running syndaemon -i 2.0 -K -R -t but the touchpad still allows clicking while typing.
On the other hand, I know that syndaemon is working correctly because I can run syndaemon -i 2.0 -K -R and that works well enough.
How do I disable touchpad paste without disabling tapping on my touchpad?
The spot to press to paste is in the upper-right corner of the touchpad (right where my thumb knuckle likes to touch while I'm typing). Actually, sometimes it pastes and sometimes it's shorthand for undo. I'd like to disable both of those.
I'm using Xubuntu 11.10, 64-bit.
