I have been experiencing a NIC related issue, so I installed a driver from the manufacturer and blacklisted the original driver included in the kernel.
System: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS 64bit
Motherboard: ASUS P5B-E Plus
NIC Chipset: Marvell Yukon 88E8056
Original Driver in the kernel: sky2
New Driver from the Manufacturer: http://www.marvell.com/support/downl...nB!2084298837#

Hello everyone !
I have a problem with my PCI-E NIC Marvell yukon. I read a lot of stuff about this and try many things !
I managed to upgrade my Ubuntu server 10.04 to 12.04 and apply the solution of Foresto here post #25. I now use sk98lin driver instead of sky2.
(Thanks you Foresto by the way ;) )
But I still lost my PCI-E Ethernet card ! Yeah this is very weird.
Hey!
I've had Ubuntu for all of 3 hours and am TOTALLY lost...
I have a Gateway M-6752, and it has a Marvell wireless card, but I'm not sure which kinda. I've seen in topics on here where people with Marvell cards have used ndiswrapper but I can't find any Marvell cards listed in the Maybe Working driver section let alone the working one.
I downloaded the sk98lin driver off the Marvell website, the one for Fedora Linux 2.6 and I am trying to get it to work with the following device.
so lspci shows
02:00.0 Ethernet controller: Marvell Technology Group Ltd. Device 2a08 (rev 03)
lsmod shows
sk98lin 142216 0
Hi all. Am running precise/12.04.2 LTS and hoping someone can point me to the correct patch for getting the latest AMD legacy driver 13.1 to work with linux-image-3.5.0-25. Am currently using this driver for my HD4270 but with kernel 3.2. Have tried using the patch from https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+s...27/comments/14 but the patch didn't entirely work and it subsequently failed to compile.
Hi,
I'm trying to connect a Yamaha MOX6 directly to my computer (running Ubuntu Studio 12.04) via a USB cable. This worked with the Yamaha driver on my Mac. However, Yamaha doesn't have a driver for Linux. It also seems that only a handful of people have tried to use the MOX6 with Linux.
so i bought a C-Crane Super USB Wifi Antenna 3 and it works great alot lol
p.s using ubuntu 12.04
but when using aircrack it says no chipset???
hi there, i've had to go all the way up to kernel 3.8 to get my much desired hd-audio passthrough working with my intel hd4000 in a mac mini late 2012 quad core i7.
I'm on ubuntu 12.10 with kernel 3.8.0 generic.
Unfortunately it means that the fix in this thread http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2078320 which worked in earlier kernels, no longer works for me, one of the devs over at xbmc
Interface Chipset Driver
wlan0 Unknown rt2860
(monitor mode enable)
This is my first day of using Ubuntu. Please i would like to know why the chipset is unknown.
I guess that is why the interface isn't changing to "mon0". What am I to do.
I use a ralink rt2860 wireless driver
