I searched the threads of this combo for hours, most saying they can't get it to work, just giving up and going to another card.
However, I found this: http://manpages.ubuntu.com/manpages/...d.html#toptoc3

I'm new with Linux. I was hoping someone could help me out. I've been trying to get my wifi to work. I'm using an RTL8187 card. The card doesn't work with Ubuntu 12.10, BT4, BT3, or Fedora 13. However it works with Windows just fine, with no driver installation necessary. In Linux, it can pick up the wireless networks in the area.
Hello. I have bought a mini-pc wich has an internal wireless card. In the output of the lsusb command I can see that the wireless card is a via vnt_6656. But there are any module loaded for this card ant it does not appear in the iwconfig or ifconfig output.
I just installed Ubuntu 12.04 Server Edition on my Dell Power Edge Server and the ethernet card is not working. I am able to see the ethernet card as Broadcom 5709 when i use lspci.
However, the ethernet card is not working and it is not connecting to the network. What should i do to diagnose and fix the same.
Would the bce driver help? if yes how do i install it on the server?
Hi,
I am installing Ubuntu 10.04 on a dell R420 and I need to load tg3.ko module on boot for the network card to function. I installed it to the kernel "insmod tg3.ko" and added the module in /etc/modules, but the driver fails to load on boot.
I checked modprobe's blacklist and the driver is not included in the list.
Any help is highly appreciated.
It's 2 year I've started using ubuntu. In ubutnu 10.04 until ubuntu 11.10 anything was Ok with my Graphic card, But when I migrate to ubuntu 12.04 I had a corruption in my graphic card and I paid expert to repair it. It was Ok with ubuntu 12.04 in continuous but when I upgraded to ubuntu 12.10 I'm never able to install my nvidia.
For the last year-ish, I was running wired internet. The building I'm in has wireless now for internet, so I decided to put a card back in my computer. I have 2 of them: D-link and Linksys.
The Linksys is the WMP300N, and I enabled the Broadcom STA driver when I put it in. However, it kept crashing the computer. All of a sudden, everything would stop.
