So my DellM4800 has one DP1.2 port on it. The laptop is currently connected to a Dell port replicator, which has 2 DP1.2 ports on it. I am running a 4k 60hz monitor on one of them already, and I am wondering if the second one can also drive a 4K monitor.
I guess I want to make sure that the ports that are added by the docking station are have their own busses, instead of a shared one.
I have a Dell Inspiron 8600 laptop I use as a media server/video capture system. It only has 2 USB ports and I have a total of 3 devices I need to connect. The DVC101 works perfectly while plugged directly into the USB port in back of the laptop. Unfortunately it does not get recognized when plugged into a passive or powered USB hub.
I installed Ubuntu 13.04 on my Dell D620 and although I realize it is not the latest and greatest machine, I find the performance of Ubuntu shocking!
Everything takes 5 - 30 seconds to launch. Once it is open it is reasonalble but switching between apps is painful.
Is this normal for Ubuntu on the D620?
What can I do to speed up the performance?
I just installed ubuntu 12 from a DVD for the first time on a Dell D620 laptop, alongside XP.
The install said it was finished Ok, but when I rebooted there was no OS choice screen, it just went straight into XP.
Any ideas what I did wrong?
Has anyone else had success on the D620?
