[ubuntu] D-Link DWA-132 with 10.04 how ??

http://ubuntuforums.org – I have several users running 10.04 and the wireless lan card I have bought them is the D-Link DWA-132. I cannot get it to work in 10.04 even though lsusb sees the device. Users running 12.04 it works out of the box. Anyway to get it to work without upgrading ? Upgrading takes a long time and existing settings are not kept despite the upgrade process saying that they will . Hence my reluctance to upgrade just for the wifi adaptor. -keevill- (Hardware)

I have tp-link TL-WN751 wireless pci wireless adaptor on my computer. I am running 12.04 on my primary partition and 12.10 on secondary partition.

I get a faultless wireless connection on 12.04 but I can't get a working wireless connection on 12.10.

I attempted to upgrade from 10.10 to 11.04 the other day. Most of it went fine until it tried to upgrade grub-pc. Spent over 24 hours waiting for it to work, and all I saw was a little activity on the hard drive. Eventually killed it and the upgrade kept on going. Also took a long, long time to run another grub command (I forget exactly which one).

I am a little behind on my Ubuntu versions and currently have 11.04. I want to upgrade to 12.04 LTS.

Now that Fedora 18, aka Spherical Cow, has been released, users of Fedora 17 will likely be gearing up to upgrade. Before this latest release, upgrading an installation of Fedora requires a procedure that’s not very elegant. With Fedora 18, the recommended upgrade tool is called FedUp (FEDora UPgrade).

I have downloaded & burnt iso of Ubuntu v11.10 & was trying to upgrade my current installation (running v11.04) when i ran into a strange issue. The installer (when i boot from media) does not detect my existing Ubuntu setup. It detects my Windows 7 installation & gives me 3 choices but NO upgrade choice.

hi y'all, i'd like to extend that ma intel wifi link 5100 is not detected no more after perform upgrade package( upgrade the kernel too ).

i dunno where the exactly problem is ?

when im using command 'lshw -C network' , there is appear to be detected, but not on command 'iwconfig' or even 'ifconfig' it just show nothin.

My ubuntu distribution upgrade got corrupted.

the problem i posted last friday is this-- upgrading 11.04 to 11.10 but i shut down the computer because it was taking so much time...the pc won't boot a day after i did that..now yesterday, the pc suddenly boot and the features were changed..it transform to 11.10..

my question which really bothers me is this---can i upgrade it to 12.04 LTS even though i made mistake of shutting it down while on
