[ubuntu] Cups Won't start after upgrade to 9.04

http://ubuntuforums.org – I have upgraded my 8.04 OS to 9.04 and all the printers are gone. I tried to connect to server from System->Administration->Printing and I get a message saying: Code: "There was an error during the CUPS operation: 'httpConnectionEncrypt failed'." I then tried to start cups manually: Code: /etc/init.d/cups.dpkg-new start And Got: Code: cupsd: Child exited with status 1! Please help, How to I get my printer to work again ? (Hardware)

I Installed 12.04 in July, worked with the office printer perfectly. tried to print today and it wont.

in the printer settings dialog it says:

Anyone have problems installing printers? I cannot install any printer since I get errors about cups.

My CUPS worked fine all the time on my 9.04 Jaunty Jacklope box until I restarted it today.

Now my printing setup utility, "System"->"Administration"->"Printing" can detect and install printers via USB, LPT or IPP.

Hello everybody I am having lots of problems with printing on my Fedora 17 x86_64 KDE install. It stated with me trying to set up a network samba printer. I got this:

Hi all, I am able to connect to the cups server of my university and the printers are all displayed in the printing settings app. I can print a test page on any of the printers from there. But when i try to print any document,image etc no printer comes up on the screen.

Hi, I use Ubuntu 9.10 on a lenovo T400. My printing seems to be suddenly broken. I connect to the network printer to print -- Using the printer configuration tool, I can connect to the cups server. However, clicking on Settings leads to the following error:
