Hi, I have just recently switched from Windows to Ubuntu 12.04, so I'm fairly new. As soon as Ubuntu was done installing I wanted to get connected to the Internet and I'm having trouble getting my wireless USB dongle (wg111) to work. I'm not sure where to start. If anyone could help me out, even by pointing to the right direction, it would be very much appreciated.
Hello all, I am a fresh convert to the linux scene and I know virtually nothing about this beautiful piece of engineering.
I recently reformatted and dual partitioned to both Windows 7 as well as ubuntu 10.10.
Loading works fine and Windows 7 is 100% operational. I cannot seem to get my wireless network adapter to be read by Ubuntus 'Windows Wireless Drivers' gui.
Hi. I am new to Linux and I just installed ubuntu 11.10 alongside widows 7 on my desktop and I'm enable to detect any wireless networks. I'm using a linskys wusb54gsc ver 2 wireless adapter and it seems that my computer is not detecting my network adapter. Any suggestions? Thnx.
I have recently just downloaded ubuntu 11.10 and before i installed, wireless worked perfectly in windows. Now that i have downloaded and installed ubuntu, i know longer have windows. I do not have a wired connection at my house, only a mifi, so my computer is useless now without internet. I really like the functionality of ubuntu, but need internet.
I recently installed a new wireless adapter in my Toshiba Notebook. I rebooted the Ubuntu and it saw the new device and worked just fine.
The speed I was getting off of www.speedtest.net was not what I was expecting. I then installed the Windows driver with
Windows Wireless Driver App in Ubuntu. I Rebooted the computer and Ubuntu does not see my device.
I recently loaded Ubuntu version 12.04 onto my computer, and I have a WUSB54G v4 USB wireless adapter. I first tried to get it to work by simply plugging my adapter into an open USB port. This seemed to work fine, it came up with a list of wireless adapters, so I clicked on the correct one and entered the security code. It looked like it was going to connect.
I'm dual clienting windows vista and ubuntu 11.10, and i have it set to where i can choose which i use at startup. Now the problem i'm having is that i use and external usb wireless adapter and i can't figure out how to either install the program that runs it or even make ubuntu find it.
I have a Netgear WNDA3100 wireless adapter I'm trying to install on Lubuntu 12.10.
I have followed the instructions here: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1806839
I've tried the video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DNR0Wvg1k5I
None worked. The adapter can't scan any wireless routers nearby.
The stick is OK, and all the other networks next door appear, however my local network is absent. The network shows up and works on my laptop running xp and windows 7 via their internal adapters.
It also worked fine in the desktop 30 mins before I loaded Ubuntu 9.1 on top
Stick is Belkin N Wireless Adapter bundled with Belkin N Wireless router Z528 ref no.
